Cinnamon is a “Hot” oil so it’s important to use very little and dilute it well in a carrier oil before applying to the skin. Suggested use on the skin is less than 0.1% diluted in a vegetable/carrier oil.  Used Before exercise, it is energizing and improves circulation. After exercise it is useful to treat sore or overworked muscles. It relaxes the muscles and improves circulation to the area to speed recovery.
Either Cassia or Cinnamomum burmani may be useful for soaps, candles, pot pourri etc… but they have been researched less for skin applications and caution should be used before applying to the skin.
Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume or Cinnamomum verum
